There are no formal entry requirements for seeking to enroll into this qualification. However, it is expected that students will have sound literacy and numeracy skills. Global Skills Training Academy requires that all learners seeking enrollment into this qualification have an appropriate level of written and spoken English suitable for employment within the private security industry. These skills are assessed by way of a Pre-Training Review during the enrollment process. The Pre-Training Review complies with the appropriate levels of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) in accordance with the CPP07 Training Package requirements. The framework stipulates appropriate LLN levels for:
- Oral Communication
- Must be 18 years or above at the time of applying for admission at GSTA.
- Be an Australian Resident or hold a valid Visa (with relevant work rights)
- Be subject to a National Police Check which requires the taking of your fingerprints
- Provide certified copies of International Police Checks from any other country resided in for a period of more than 12 months over the previous 10 years since turning 16 years of age
- Be a fit and proper person which implies not having any medical condition or history with police that would hinder your employment within the industry.
- Complete the training (relevant to the private security activity or activities you wish to be licensed for) to demonstrate competency for working in the security industry.
- Provide 2 written references outlining your suitability for employment within the private security industry.
- In general, entry into this course requires successful completion of an Australian Year 10 qualification or equivalent. However, the selection is not based purely on academic performance. (Relevant work experience, work samples and other documentation submitted will also be considered).

Qualification and Certificate

- Recognition of Prior Learning
RPL recognises skills, knowledge of experience you have gained outside of formal education and training system and how they may meet the requirements of your qualification
- Credit Transfer
Recognises your previously completed study, which may a provide credit towards the qualification
The certificate details for the Certificate II in Security Operations are as follows:
Testamur- A certificate for successful course completion.
In particular, you will be awarded a “Testamur” upon successful completion of the Certificate II in Security Operations course.
Records of Results
Record of Results- A certificate highlighting the units of competency completed.
Furthermore, along with the Testamur, the students will receive a “Record of Results” which provides the details related to the units of competency completed in the course CPP20212 Certificate II in Security Operations.
Statement of Attainment
Statement of Attainment- A certificate that highlights the eligibility for the additional 7 units required for a private security license in Victoria.
In addition, all the students will be awarded a separate “Statement of Attainment ” to allow them for the additional seven units as required for licensing through Victoria Police.
However, if you complete only a part of the course, then a “Statement of Attainment” will be awarded (which only includes the Units of Competency that you have achieved within the course)
